roll20 how to use dynamic lighting

For me it requires the token to be connected to a character sheet. It was the hardest part to figure out. I spent literal hours adding sight/vision, making sure "all players" controlled the token and no one being able to see everything. As soon as i connected it to a sheet, it worked. When doing the tutorial, (the part that got cut off and probably for the best) was me getting frustrated that giving the token sight and controlled by all players was not letting me see it (i had forgotten about the character sheet attachment) i experimented afterwards and that was the only way for me to see the card area.

That really strange, I just tested it and it worked fine for me. Even had a player join in and verify it.

I put three Destiny cards on the map. Backup Plan in the visible area that all PC tokens had line of sight to. Alertness and Willpower in an area with no vision. Alertness was given Controlled By "All Players" and had the Vision switch under Dynamic Lighting flipped to On and no other things done to it. Willpower was left as is.

In Player view I could still see Alertness but not Willpower. I didn't have to make a character journal entry for it or anything.

Also I figured out a macro that would do both things at once without having to double click the card (require tokenmod API to be active):

!token-mod --set controlledby|all
!token-mod --on has_bright_light_vision
